Alabama outlasts Purdue, captures 5-hour ENERGY® Puerto Rico Tip-Off crown

Anthony GrantThe No. 16 Crimson Tide improved its record to 5-0 by winning the 5-hour ENERGY® Puerto Rico Tip-Off with a 65-56 victory over Purdue (4-1) at San Juan, Puerto Rico. The last time Alabama was 5-0 was 2006. Trevor Releford led Alabama with 20 points. JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell each had 14 points and Levi Randolph added 12. The remaining Alabama players combined for five points. Purdue came into the game averaging 84.5 points per game, and have allowed only 50.8 points per game in its first four games. The Tide led 24-23 at halftime, and the score was tied at 33-33 before Alabama went on a 9-1 run. Mitchell started the run with a 3-pointer. Trevor Lacey followed with a layup in transition. MORE
