Puerto Rico Tip-Off

UNC, WEST VIRGINIA HEADLINE 2010 FIELD

Bob McKillopSome might argue the merits of participating in an early season basketball tournament. Not Georgia Tech, Kansas and Villanova, however; as part of last November’s eight-team Puerto Rico Tip-Off field—won by Villanova—the three schools ended their seasons in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. (Not too shabby.) The 2010 field has similar aspirations, especially five-time NCAA champions North Carolina, who know a thing or two about the postseason. Joining the Tar Heels in San Juan will be Davidson, Hofstra, Minnesota, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and West Virginia, who will be looking to pick up where they left off in this year’s Final Four.
